Owner chef, Yoichi Iguchi – known in Billingsgate market as “Yoyo”- has worked for over 20 years as a Chef. Born in Tokyo and inspired by his father and grandfather who were also chefs, he initially trained at the prestigious Ginza Asta, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Japan.
Yoyo moves to London and works at various Japanese restaurants, including Nobu in Park Lane. There, he makes sushi for the stars and if you look above the counter in the shop, you will see his chefs’ knives signed by Robert De Niro, Madonna, Nobu and a hat signed by Kylie Minogue.
Yoyo becomes the main fish buyer for most of the Japanese restaurants in London.
Yoyo accomplishes his dream of sharing his delicious food with his local community by opening Yoyo Kitchen in West Acton, where he lives with his wife and four children.
